2. Austin Should Have Stayed Home

When Steve Austin, the biggest money making star in the history of the business, was rumored to show up live on the biggest WWE event ever, did you picture it would be to beat up The League of Nations?

The problem isn€™t so much that the LON got beat up by three legends, it€™s that the stable ALWAYS get beat up. Because of that, the involvement of Austin, Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley (combined age 151) felt beneath them, especially for Austin. Those three could have been used in the Shane/Taker match to spice things up a bit, but they wasted their time fooling around with the 2016 version of the J.O.B. squad. No offense to the Social Outcasts.

Okay, so yes, there is a bit of an issue of three middle aged guys beating up a former WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, Intercontinental Champion and US Champ with such ease. Because later in the night The Rock and Cena also pummeled The Wyatt Family, making seven current wrestlers look like scrubs. The problem is, those are the seven people who work every week on TV, and make all the house shows. I don't think Rock is coming to a live event near you.

It€™s a sign of the times, and a painful reminder of how poorly almost everyone in this generation has been booked. This domination of Attitude Era stars in the modern age would have been like Bruno Sammartino and Pedro Morales showing up at WrestleMania 5 and beating up The Heenan Family.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
