WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (April 10)
1. Roman vs. Hunter
In the past 16 years, Id argue that the four most lackluster main events at WrestleMania occurred at 16, 18, 25 and 32. One man was in all four of those matches: Triple H.
Sure, Hunter put in a great performance at Mania XX, and helped pass the torch to Batista and John Cena at 21 and 22, but his days of main-eventing the biggest show of the year should have ended 10 years ago. As weve seen in the past, the Heavyweight Title match doesnt have to go on last. It seems obvious to anyone besides Vince and Hunter that the Hell in a Cell battle should have closed out the show.
Shane and Taker wasnt a great match, but it had a lot of crowd excitement behind it, an insane bump, and a victory for The Dead Man in his home state. We could have all gone home happy dammit! Hunter vs. Roman had a hostile crowd with no good possible outcome. Either Roman wins and people boo (which happened), or Hunter wins and then we realize were cheering for a man whose only cheered because hes not Roman.
If Hunter is such a brilliant wrestling mind, as he is often given credit for, why doesnt he realize no one wanted to see him and Roman fight for 30 minutes? This match went 11 minutes longer than last years main event, which is absolutely ridiculous. If they only went five minutes, it may have been for the best. Roman wins decisively, and fans get to move on with their lives sooner. Can we please move on now?
Time to kick out.
