WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Aug 28)

6. The New Day-ly Show

The New Day Jon Stewart

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart was often brilliant. All future appearances of Stewart in WWE should be cancelled.

Jon graced us with his presence at SummerSlam again this year by appearing in the corner of The New Day. I wish he hadn’t. Like Robocop and The Muppets before him, he just doesn’t fit in the wrestling world. He cost The Club the tag team championship, and to prove how badass they are, they let him tuck in his shirt before attempting to beat him up. This is because WWE likes jokes more than they like the integrity of their titles, and people they signed away from Japan.

To make things even more absurd, Big E was gone for a couple of weeks, but sure took his sweet time to appear. I mean, he showed up at the arena, he needlessly got dressed in his wrestling gear, he must have sat backstage watching the monitor, and then decided to wait until AFTER his friends were beat up so he could save Jon Stewart, because hurting the former host of a TV show was going too far!

How is it that WWE can take people that are funny, and make them them so, so lame?

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
