WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (August 23)

3. Open Mic Challenge

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsaAprnoe4s This week on TNA€™s extra super special €œTurning Point€ episode of Impact (Seriously Dixie, you can€™t put on former pay-per-view events every other week and expect people to still buy the shows as major events!), Mr. Anderson and Bram duked it out in an Open Mic ladder match, which sounds like it came out of Vince Russo€™s WCW playbook of 1999. The objective was to pull down a microphone, and then hit your opponent over the head with it...and then pin him. Or something? I mean, Anderson didn€™t win until he pinned Bram, so why was the microphone even necessary? Besides the ridiculous, ill conceived match concept, Bram is one of the most promising wrestlers not just on the roster, but in all of wrestling. He€™s young, with a unique look, and filled with charisma. He has the rare trait of a wrestler in that he feels real. He€™s more talented than both of his former Ascension stablemates put together. So what does TNA do with him? Have him lose a feud to a departing Magnus, and then to the former Mr. Kennedy after getting hit with a prop microphone. That€™s hardcore!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
