After unceremoniously being dumped by Destination America, TNA quickly found their rebound network and aired their first official show this week. How did things go? Well, about 111,000 people watched their debut program on Pop TV. Ouch. Sure, it wasnt a live special, and it didnt feature any new wrestling matches, but 111,000 people? Thats it? Thats about a third of the people who watched Impact on Destination America, which was about half the amount that watched on Spike. To make things more embarrassing, the lead-in to the show was a Days of Our Lives rerun, which drew 100,000 more viewers than TNA did. This is 90% less people watching the product than who did a few years ago. The show overall hasnt been that bad the past few months, but the letters T-N-A are toxic, and could be a poisonous ingredient for Pop.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
