4. Crews And Kalisto Get The Chair

If I were Apollo Crews or Kalisto, I would feel pretty bad about my character...and probably my life in general after their match at Elimination Chamber.

The two had been cast as babyfaces in their feud with Dolph Ziggler, but they were put in the unenviable position of having to face him 2-on-1, which put sympathy on the heel. Apparently it was way too much sympathy, as the crowd audibly thanked Ziggler for beating the hell out of them with a chair. That’s pretty harsh! Two guys who did nothing wrong are treated as villains for...winning a match? It’s not like within the context of the storyline they booked themselves in that fight! In reality, people dislike them because they aren’t as entertaining as their opponent, and because their characters are lame. It’s a rough business to get into these days.

It’s hard to know what creative was hoping for with that booking, but in one match they damaged three acts. That’s unusually high, even for WWE's standards.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
