WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Feb 1)

2. No More Numbering

Why must Vince McMahon do everything he can to annoy long time fans? WWE doesn€™t stand for World Wrestling Entertainment anymore, why it€™s just WWE! You don€™t need that word €œwrestling€ in there! WrestleMania is no longer €œThe Grandaddy of them All€ because that makes it sound ancient. Well, now adding numbers to WrestleMania has been done away with too due to age reasons. While the WrestleMania 31 logo has been out for some time, it€™s been reported that the numbering has been dropped because Vince McMahon thinks it makes the event seem too old. For the hardcore fans, the numbering at WrestleManias is synonymous with great events and matches. Hogan vs. Andre at Mania 3, Bret vs. Shawn at Mania 12 and Rock vs. Cena at 28. WWE wants to make that a little more difficult now. I don't know why...so more children will order the event? Vince€™s hang-up on getting older is understandable, but not everyone feels the same way he does about his creation. The Super Bowl still puts roman numerals on their logo each year. Showing that it€™s been around makes it feel more prestigious. It€™s a call back to past times. The majority of players in the NFL never get to play in the big game. Same goes with the vast majority of professional wrestlers never appearing at WrestleMania. It€™s one of those things that seem so pointless for Vince McMahon to do, but he does it anyway because he's crazy. Kind of like what happened at The Royal Rumble...

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
