WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Feb 1)

1. Reigns Wins The Royal Rumble

Yeah, you probably knew this one was coming. In all my years of watching wrestling, I€™m not sure I can recall witnessing a crowd so angry, for so long, over a babyface about to win a match. Even John Cena at his worst has thousands still cheering his name. Not at The Rumble. Not for Roman Reigns. Despite what history appears to tell us, Vince McMahon is not all that good at picking his next top guy. He wanted Lex Luger over Bret Hart and had to be talked out of it. He thought Tom Magee was world championship material. His plans for Steve Austin were to make him a Ringmaster. The Rock debuted as generic, smiling babyface No. 716. John Cena was generic smiling babyface No. 814 until he impressed Stephanie McMahon with his rapping skills on a plane. So as bad as Vince wants fans to love Roman, they just don€™t. Not yet. I actually feel kind of bad for Roman. I€™m not sure what he€™s like behind the scenes, but it€™s not his fault that he has to tell children stories. And what was he going to do, refuse winning The Rumble because he€™s not ready? Well, WWE pulled the trigger on him winning and it seems it€™s probably a year or two too early. WWE had a natural David vs. Goliath story with Daniel Bryan and Brock Lesnar. It seemed like the obvious, money making match. But things got so bad with Bryan out of the Rumble, that the crowd chanted for Rusev. Now we're stuck with Roman whether we like it or not. Vince claims to listen to the fans, but it's clear that he needs a hearing aid. Or he just needs to stop lying to himself. One of the two. Time to kick out. That's all for this week. Agree? Disagree? What was your worst wrestling moment of the week? Sound off below and thanks for reading!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
