Dean Ambrose sat at his house this past week. He probably watched Saturday Nights Live 40th Anniversary Special, and saw Weekend Update. While there, he thought he had a funny idea to film himself at a desk and pretend he was a newscaster and take a jab at Wade Barrett. A couple days later he unpacked a suit he brought with to the arena, slapped on a tie, and read off some paper. This was a lot of work for something that wasnt very good, and not the least bit funny. When you try that hard to be clever and fail, its just a sad situation for everyone. Dean, come on now, what happened? The Shield split up about eight months ago, but it feels like twice that long since you last seemed cool. WWE is really trying way too hard with the man. Psychiatrist appointments, exploding TVs and one dud segment after the next. The man himself is talented, but the character is simply bad news.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
