5. Sami Allen

What the hell was that? Not since Aron Rex became Liberace on Impact last week has a character so suddenly changed up their act so dramatically. Sami Zayn turned into Woody Allen on Raw. The arm gesticulations, the over-phrasing of his words, and the random stuttering. This wasn’t peak Allen comedy either, like with Bananas or Sleeper in the '70s. This was Allen in his terrible Amazon show Crisis in Six Scenes while IN his 70s.

Sami seemed to be getting over just fine on Raw lately by being the lovable underdog, but Vince may have thought he needed to do more comedy to get him over to that next level. I guess it worked for Daniel Bryan, but that's more of an exception to the rule. Hopefully this new turn was a one and done ordeal, otherwise I can't really see a potential Brock Lesnar vs. Zayn match if he's going to suddenly wear glasses, and turn into an neurotic man who marries a woman half his age who also happens to be his girlfriend's stepdaughter. Though maybe that would be kind of interesting.

Also, this segment made Seth and Roman kind of look like a couple of dicks. That’s been Roman’s specialty over the past few years, but as we’ve seen, it’s not a great way to get people to like him. Having them treat a beloved character like he’s an idiot (even when he did suddenly turn into an idiot) reflected poorly on them. Be better team players!
