Poor TNA? What is wrong with me? For once, I actually feel a little bad for the often inept promotion. In the excitement of A.J. Styles, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson joining WWE, a story broke out this week that the three had all agreed to join TNA a couple months ago. From a perception standpoint, this would have been pretty big for Dixies company. For the past couple of years, it's looked like they were about to go out of business at anytime, but having Styles return could have brought in some much needed positivity. Obviously that didnt happen, and the three were wooed by the major leagues of WWE. We dont know the details of the contracts beyond speculation, and if nothing was officially signed with TNA, then you cant really blame them. Still, it makes you wonder how things will pan out for everyone. Impact is actually creatively competent at the moment, and an infusion of big international names could have brought in some lapsed viewers. Meanwhile, former top TNA star Samoa Joe is still stuck in NXT, Austin Aries is debuting in their minor leagues as well, and its doubtful that Gallows and Anderson will begin work on the main roster. Its a story to keep an eye on, and could be a great What if? scenario down the road, but for once...I just feel a little bit for TNA. It rarely happens, so let me have my moment, and a little privacy. Thank you for your understanding.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
