WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Jan 25)

5. Bad News For Barrett

Can someone in WWE explain how having Wade Barrett lose cleanly to Dean Ambrose does anyone any good? First off, it knocks Barrett down a peg, it further devalues the Intercontinental Title, and it even makes Ambrose look like a clown for not asking for a title match. For some reason, only Sin Cara seems to have been smart enough to ask for one. Perhaps he felt he could avoid the Intercontinental curse since he loses all the time anyway. Having Barrett lose once wasn€™t enough for WWE, as they had him lose cleanly again on SmackDown! So amazingly, he€™s 0-3 in non-title matches since winning the gold, and 1-0 in title matches. What are the odds? WWE has really dropped the ball on Barrett. Before his injury he was as hot as he€™d been since his Nexus days. When he came back, it looked like he was possibly going to be cast as a babyface. WWE decided against it and gave him the Intercontinental Title, but took away his speaking segments, which is what got him over in the first place. At times, it feels like it€™s futile to get over in this company. Zack Ryder, Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro and Barrett seem to prove that crowd response doesn€™t matter. And that€™s not just bad news. That€™s terrible news.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
