WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Jan 31)

5. The Kiss

It was not a good week for the women of WWE. Not too long ago, a man forcing a kiss on an evil woman was a babyface type maneuver in wrestling. I mean, WrestleMania 18 saw Jeff Hardy grab Stacy Keibler, spank her and then made her lock lips with him. Seems like the type of thing that should make you unemployable for the rest of your career. Times are slowly changing in the wrestling industry, though, but this week we saw a strange and uncomfortable moment when The Nature Boy forced a kiss on Becky Lynch during her match. Here€™s the thing, the moment didn€™t exactly have to be offensive. But Charlotte won her match, Becky looked like a fool, and then looked even more foolish when Sasha Banks decided to beat her up too. If you€™re going to have a villain do something reprehensible like sexually harass a woman, then have that woman beat his ass! Had Becky won the match, then locked Flair in the Disarmer, that would have been an amazing moment and got her over. But a heel got away with a creepy deed that went largely unpunished (minus a slap), and his daughter picked up the win. How can you say this is a revolution when things are stuck so far in the past?

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
