So overall, the Royal Rumble was pretty good. A.J. Styles finally joined WWE, Sami Zayn made another main roster appearance, and then The Rock came back the following night in an overall entertaining segment. I felt better about WWE than I had been in months, and then they messed it all up in one moment with Stephanie McMahon once again needlessly starring in an anti-bullying video. We watched as she talked about how bullies are bad, and not being a bully is not bad. Good message and all, but there are 40 faces on the roster who could have delivered that message, and not damaged the show in any way! Worst of all, when they cut away from the video they literally went right into a still photo of evil Steph with the announcers telling us that her and Hunter would be making their Fastlane decision later in the night. So Steph, usually the Please retire! chants are saved for The Big Show (rightfully so, I mean, did you see him beat up The Wyatt Family on SmackDown? I never need to see that again), but after 17 years I think its time to find something else to do. Well, at least have the character can go away forever, and corporate Steph can continue to be in those corporate videos. But you can't do both!
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
