3. Where’s Brock?

Brock Lesnar returned to UFC after a four-and-a-half years absence, and picked up an impressive victory against Mark Hunt. A WWE wrestler beat a full-time MMA fighter. That’s pretty big. For some reason, though, Vince McMahon didn’t seem to think so.

Vince could have vetoed Brock’s involvement in the fight, and no one would have blamed him. There’s no way Dana White would let Ronda Rousey compete in a wrestling ring, because she could get hurt. The same could have happened with Brock. But how did Vince not make The Beast agree beforehand that if he won he’d have to show up on Raw? It seems like a huge missed opportunity.

The announcers barely talked about what went down, and we didn’t get to see any footage, which Vince also should have made UFC agree to provide in advance if he won. If WWE wasn’t going to make a huge deal out of him competing, then why did they even bother in the first place?

By week's end, that question seems to be replaced with a bigger one...

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
