7. RIP Chris

Chris Warren

If there was a professional wrestling theme song Hall of Fame (which there should be!), then Chris Warren deserves to be in the inaugural class alongside Jim Johnston and Jimmy Hart. At only 49-years-old, Warren passed away this week. He may not be a household name, but he had a hand in creating some of the best entrance themes the business has ever seen.

With all due respect to Motorhead, Warrens song My Time may have been the best one Triple H has ever had. His X-Pac theme was solid as well, and he also lent his vocals to the iconic No Chance in Hell) (well, Wikipedia has it listed as Peter Busurker, and IMDB has it as Chris Warren. Its a bit of a shame that wrestling theme artists dont get the recognition they deserve!).

However, it will be the D-Generation X Break it Down that wrestling fans will remember him best for. At a time when the WWF was lost creatively, and losing to WCW, that stable, along with their cutting edge video entrance and great theme song, helped mark a drastic change for the company. Sometimes its the smaller things that add up to a big impact, and Warrens work off-camera absolutely enhanced the product, and helped make some of our favorite wrestlers just that much cooler.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
