7. Death In The Ring
At worst of the week, when a wrestler dies, that tragedy is not ranked against the silly and awful things we see in the rest of the wrestling world. This entry is just a reminder that wrestlers put their lives on the lines every night out, and horrendous and life threatening injuries are only a move away. Professional wrestler El Hijo del Perro Aguayo died during a match with former WWE wrestler Rey Mysterio Jr. and current TNA wrestlers Manik and Tigre Uno on March 20th in the CRASH promotion. After Mysterio dropkicked Aguayo in the back, he fell into the ropes and suffered whiplash. It's a move we've seen performed countless times in a wrestling ring. You wouldnt have guessed anything was out of the ordinary until Aguayo didnt get up. Aguayo was a top star in Mexico, and only 35 years old. Besides the death of a young man, it's also unfortunate (on a much smaller scale) with this beginning Rey Mysterio's post-WWE career. Hes a wrestling legend, a future hall of famer, and heck, the man is in the current WWE Flintstones film. This is perhaps the final chapter of his career. A debut in Lucha Underground is reportedly right around the corner, but now a real-life tragedy is certain to haunt his life and career for some time to come. Condolences to Aguayos family and friends. It's hard to transition into having fun making fun of the weirdness of wrestling again, but let's give it a go...
