What is it with wrestlers this week telling fans to shut the hell up? Shouldnt people who pay money to go to shows be able to boo and cheer who they want? Cant they disapprove of bad booking, and root for the underdog? Not in Roman Reigns opinion, well, at least when it involves himself. Oh man, Roman, what were you thinking? In an interview with Rolling Stone this week, he said that while hes talking, fans should, yes, Shut the hell up and let me talk. That comment has a high chance of coming back to haunt him in the near future. Hes letting those vocal fans know that theyre getting to him. Steve Austin, The Rock, HHH, and John Cena never took part in a major interview and told fans to either like them or be quiet. Not since WrestleMania 13 with Sid vs. The Undertaker has a main event at Mania had someone with so little history of success in the final match. Do you think Roman is even aware of that? His opponent, Brock Lesnar, has sold millions of pay-per-views in WWE and UFC. Hes a proven box office draw who's been in a variety of great matches despite being in fewer matches than the vast majority of the roster. Roman is a guy who main-evented WWE Fast Lane as a solo act, and thats it. So fans have a right to be skeptical. They have a right to not like his push. But Chris Jericho, Kevin Dunn, Vince McMahon and Roman Reigns only want you to have their kind of fun. Believe that! Time to kick out. That's all for this week. Agree? Disagree? As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
