NXT had a strange episode this week. The crowd went into overdrive mode trying to please themselves, more so than usual. Included in their antics was a No means no! chant, which is an anti-rape slogan that should never be chanted at a wrestling event. Maybe those Full Sail students should spend some more time in the classroom, and less time at the arena watching Solomon Crowe matches! A questionable WWE decision on the show saw Sami Zayn somehow looking into the future, knowing he was going to get hurt by John Cena, and then reporting to Kevin Owens that he was still going to make the match. This episode was taped before his Raw match against Cena, but WWE felt the need to tell us, quite awkwardly, that hed make it to Takeover. In post production, they cut to Steen standing there while piping in audio from Zayn who sounded like he had a gun to his head saying Yeah, I hurt my shoulder wrestling John Cena, but make no mistake about it Im ready for Takeover, this match is happening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=23&v=HwU0VZvhSNU Was that the best take they had? And why bother to do it anyway? If he's going to make the match, then just have him show up, or insert a short video of one of the announcers saying he'll be there. But don't cut in with canned audio! What is this, SmackDown?
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
