WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (May 8)
4. So Long Sandow
It was black Friday in WWE this week, and in our hearts. This was not the good kind of Black Friday either, you know, like the day after Thanksgiving where you can buy a Jimmy Uso shirt and get a Jey Uso shirt for free. Eight men and women lost their jobs this week, so show some respect!
Now Wade Barrett going is a shame, though we knew it was coming because he lost his smile in the League of Nations. Hornswoggle and Santino made sense to drop due to their inactivity, and if were being honest with ourselves, Cameron probably shouldnt have been hired in the first place. Girl...bye?
Then theres El Torito, who was absolutely doomed the moment Vince McMahon pulled a miniature bull costume out of his personal closet and handed it to him. Alex Riley surely deserved better, as the man was actually over in his pairing with The Miz, and then subsequent feud with him. But the biggest loss of all is Damien Sandow, a talent who should have been working comfortably in the upper mid-card the past few years.
Sandow was a great rookie character (if we ignore his run as Idol Stevens) as the Savior of the Masses. WWE never let him get heat, though. He was presented largely as a comedy figure, who then won the Money in the Bank without building him any in-ring credibility first. And then he continued to job like nobodys business anyway. Then, somehow, the man got himself over by impersonating someone else for a career! His reward for overcoming a horrendous gimmick that he made gold, was that he got to act like Hulk Hogan.
Primo and Epico are getting repackaged, Darren Young is getting Bob Backlund, and Viktor got some new facepaint. And yet, Sandow is the one who gets the big boot.
