WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Nov 16)

5. Goodbye Khali

Now don€™t get me wrong, The Great Khali should have retired at least two years ago. At least. It actually seemed reckless of WWE to keep him in the ring, as it seemed his legs were about to give out on him at any moment. Not since the days of Andre the Giant in the twilight of his career has an active wrestler in WWE had to wrestle the majority of their matches from the corner of the ring while holding onto the ropes for stability. What does bother me about Khali leaving is that within terms of a storyline, he€™s simply gone without explanation. Most fans probably won€™t even notice for months. Khali was initially brought in to feud with The Undertaker. He was the next in a long line of Taker opponents that possessed little talent, and were hired simply because they were big, fat, or big and fat. That was in 2006. After that feud ran its course, he slowly slid into a mid-card comedy role. Well, he also won the World Heavyweight Championship once. While he took time off now and then, he basically had an eight year career in the company. he didn€™t get any sort of send-off on the way out, which just bugs me. No other show on TV would have a character on screen for years and then just disappear without explanation. One night Khali lost to Rusev, and then he was gone. Couldn€™t they have at least made it a retirement match? Believe it or not, there are people out there who are fans of The Great Khali. Some people got a kick out of him. I€™m not one of them in the least, but I€™ll always believe that a wrestler/manager/announcer leaving the company should get the chance to be written out, or to say goodbye. The people that cared about him will just be frustrating by his unexplained absence. Well, in Khali€™s honor, I€™ll watch some of his classic moments like the Kiss Cam, his team with Hornswoggle, that time he had almost had a two star match, and his relationship with Natalya. Okay, I€™m not going to do any of that, but someone out there will...right?

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
