WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Nov 20)
5. The Knockouts Are A Mess
Madison Rayne joined the creative team in Sept., this week she was booked as a surprise guest partner for Brandi Rhodes. As Ric Flair said to Eric Bischoff “ABUSE of POWER! Fire me! I’m already fired!” Okay...there was no need for that second part.
I think Rayne has more to give to TNA in the ring than she’s she’s been allowed over the past couple years, but she’s not exactly mystery partner material. I don’t think anyone in the Knockout’s Division fits that bill, but they’ve basically done it to themselves. Just watch this week's match and see how far they’ve fallen.
Brandi Rhodes probably shouldn’t be in a wrestling ring. It doesn't seem safe or really all that practical. She doesn’t have very good ring awareness, she has an Eva Marie-type confusion as to what to do next. That’s something that can be learned, but shouldn’t be work-shopped on air. She also sure as hell shouldn’t be pinning the monster of the division in Sienna, especially after screwing up her finisher and having to try again.
While WWE's women’s divisions aren’t exactly on fire, each brand is killing TNA’s offerings. At this point it seems they should shut the whole thing down until they hire half-a-dozen more women who are good in the ring and have compelling characters. Brandi vs. Maria in 2016 just isn’t going to cut it.
