WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Nov 20)

1. The Line Up

I really, really hope that Stephanie talking down to the main roster is her favorite thing in life. I hope that when she takes over the company, that she’ll think all that time demeaning every man and woman who worked for her was worth it for her well-being and ego. Otherwise, it's been one colossal waste without a single benefit.

The beginning of Raw with Steph lining up every competitor for Survivor Series and talking down to them is incredibly damaging to the business. It should be obvious to anyone within a position of power in professional wrestling, and yet, this kind of nonsense continues and may never stop, and thus ratings will continue to slide.

Stephanie McMahon does not go to house shows. She does not sell merchandise. She does not draw ratings, but she is booked as more important than everyone else on the show. She lived through the Attitude Era and Hulk Hogan’s era, and somehow didn’t learn a damn thing.

Can she point to one episode of Raw where Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker and Kane all stood on the stage and allowed themselves to be talked down to by Vince McMahon for 10 minutes and said absolutely nothing in response? Is this what wrestlers have come to, they're just all a bunch of corporate Yes Men and Yes Women?

This is the reason why Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg feels special. Because they haven’t stuck around full-time these past 15 years, and had to be positioned as subservient to the McMahons. They feel like actual fighters, and so, we want to see them fight. It's really not that complicated. The biggest Fantasy Warfare at play here is the one going on in the McMahon's heads where they think they matter the most.

Time to kick out.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
