This entry isn't against Phil Brooks in the least, but his disturbing accusations against WWE. Like many others, I was a bit critical of the way that Punk left WWE. Not because he "owed me" anything, but because he didn't ride out the rest of his contract, or at least put over a younger talent on the way out. With the way he was treated in WWE, I say more power to him for leaving. Punk claimed that he had a staph infection that could have killed him which WWE doctors failed to diagnose. Imagine the public relations nightmare the company would have had if that had killed him. Besides that, from his allegations, the company is obviously out of touch (which if you watch the product isn't hard to believe), has no clear direction (again, pretty obvious), doesn't pay their talent well enough (Tyler Reks also stated that this week in an interview) and is uncaring in how they treat the wrestlers (probably up for debate). With broken ribs, injured knees, being called back from injury early multiple times, no communication on how the Network would effect his paychecks, and a handful of broke promises, it's hard to find fault with Punk's decision to leave. Plus, the man really took it to HHH and that's always a good time. Will things change in WWE? Probably not, but his interview was highly entertaining and a sad expose on how the McMahons run their company. Yes, there's two sides to every story, and some of Punk's complaints probably aren't that legit (I don't think he should have had the same WrestleMania payoffs for example), but it's clear that some big changes need to be made in WWE. And perhaps rehashing old storylines will be the least of WWE's problems if other wrestlers too begin to stand up. Time to kick out.
As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at."
Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
