WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Nov 6)

3. History Was...Okay

WWE is so incredibly proud of themselves for finally pushing women as more than eye candy. Instead of just showing us that their female competitors are as valuable as the men, they tell us at every possible opportunity. Not only is it obnoxious, but it still doesn’t reflect much of their reality.

Looking at the Wikipedia’s WWE roster page, there are six women who are currently active competitors on Raw. The men have 36. This doesn’t feel like Sasha and Charlotte were given the main event, because they were at the top of a deep, thriving division, WWE just wanted to pat themselves on the back as soon as possible again. Now, instead of something really special being built up as a “First time ever” for a women's match main-eventing a pay-per-view, it was decided ON THE DAY OF THE SHOW!

WWE lost that marketing tool with nothing to show for it, because Vince McMahon is becoming increasingly erratic and can't plot things out a day in advance.

Okay, so it is still cool that they closed out the show, even though WWE botched every part of the angle preceding it (they acted like putting them in the cell was this amazing gift for most of the feud), however, the match was...meh? Maybe a 6 out of 10? Charlotte and Sasha maybe just don’t work well together. They’ve both been in match of the year candidates the past couple years, but in a night where they really should have brought down the house they tripped up a bit. It will be interesting to see how this match is thought of in the coming years.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
