WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Oct 23)

3. The New And Un-Improved Eli Show

Eli Drake has been a nice success story for TNA this year. He’s done a hell of a job establishing himself as one of the strongest heels on the roster, and he has a confidence about him that few wrestlers in the business posses.

One thing that wasn’t so great was his Fact of Life show, which was pretty lousy until a couple weeks ago when EC III was his guest and the two verbally hit it off. It seemed he had finally hit his stride. This week, he took a big step back.

For no discernible reason they added an overbearing laugh track to his talk show, which took the whole thing way too over the top. Instead of just his "dummy" (yeah!) button, they added in like 20 other things to make it one weird mess. It veered into the realm of surrealness as Aron Rex mugged his way throughout the entire segment with cartoonish facial expressions, and was booed by a fake crowd whenever he talked.

If they took all that new nonsense out, maybe it could return to being decent again, but whatever dummy (yeah!) thought adding all of it in was a good idea, should not be paid this week by TNA...which they likely weren't going to be anyway.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
