“Billy Corgan, Aiden O’Shea.” - Literally everything Josh Matthews said about the return of Aiden O’Shea

For some reason this really bothered me! It was just so weird and lazy. Aiden O’Shea hasn’t had a match on Impact since January. So we assumed he was no longer a character on Impact. Thus, an announcer should have displayed at least a little surprise when he showed up, or I don’t know, question why he’s there!

Imagine on SmackDown Mauro Ranallo going “Oh. There’s two of the other four Spirit Squad members”, as if it was just a given that they’d show up.

Josh Matthews is supposed to be the voice of the viewers, a simple “Hey, is that Aiden O’Shea? We haven’t seen him in awhile. And he’s aligned with Billy Corgan? Why, that’s certainly interesting!” would have sufficed. Five seconds of dialogue was all that was needed, because him noting that would have been the INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS THING TO SAY!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
