“All of the championships will be defended, except for Z (referring to DJ Z), because we’re introducing Team X Gold, which he helped put together. Thank you for that.” -Billy Corgan on Impact.

And thus, we had our grand introduction to Team X Gold.

So we’re doing another new thing? Didn’t we just do that Grand Championship thing? And basically, DJ Z came up with an entire tournament so he didn't have to defend his title? That's how I took it.

Actually, no I apologize, Josh Matthews cleared everything up about Team X Gold a short while later:

“These are tag team matches, but the rules are strictly enforced. If you make a tag you have to get out of the ring or you’re disqualified.”

Oh...sorry. I was wrong, because that’s a rule, not an explanation of what it was we were watching. And that was it. We then had a match. So really, is this a tournament? Yes? No? Who picked the teams? Is there belts involved? Does the winner get a pot of gold?

Whatever this whole thing is, it was the laziest introduction of...whatever this sort of thing was perhaps ever seen in wrestling. It was somehow even lazier than the introduction of Marshee Rockett, who made his debut in that match, and came up on the losing side.

We don't know what's going on in your minds TNA, sometimes you have to tell us!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
