1. How Far Weve Fallen
The second wrestling pay-per view I ever watched was WCWs The Great American Bash in 1998. The main event of that show? Sting vs. The Giant. It went 6 minutes and 40 seconds long, and it sucked. I wanted my five dollars back (from the $30 we put in as a group). Seventeen years later we got a rematch on Raw. I want that time back, and maybe some money from the pain it caused. During the main event of Monday, Michael Cole said that Sting vs. The Big Show showed "Just how far the sports entertainment industry has come!" Was that a joke? It had to be right? Because what we saw was the exact opposite of what he said. When Sting and Show fought in 98, Nitro averaged a 4.1 rating that month. Raw averaged a 4.6. This weeks Raw, highlighted by the two former WCW main-eventers, drew a 2.42. They should be embarrassed. This isnt a hot, new Rock vs. Austin type of feud, with two young guys who are incredibly over and bringing in new fans. This was two guys well past their primes competing in front of a burnt out audience in a creatively empty product. We have come a long way, but it's in the completely wrong direction. Time to kick out.

Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week.
