3. Cena’s Pinned

That's right. I'm complaining about John Cena losing! What have I become?

I don’t know about you, but I never thought I’d see the day where after witnessing The Attitude Adjustment in a match, you just assume the other person was going to kick out.

Seeing the man pinned clean on an episode of SmackDown doesn’t feel right. The Hulkster basically took one clean televised loss in WWF/WWE, and that was to Brock Lesnar on SmackDown years after his peak. Cena’s losses should be treated as a huge, star making deal. Is Ambrose going to be cheered anymore next week on SmackDown? I'll eat my jorts if he is.

Now, the counter-argument is that this is a storyline that’s headed somewhere. And if that was any other wrestling promotion in history I’d happily agree.

But Cena lost to A.J. Styles at SummerSlam, and then he disappeared for an entire month, and then came back with no explanation as to why. So recent history says there’s no long-term plan in the works. Also, how is Cena still in the No Mercy match at all? He lost to both Ambrose and Styles clean so that seems a good justification to keep him out of the it.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
