5. Maryse Helps Miz Retain His Gold
Right before The Miz looked to retain his WWE Intercontinental Title against Dolph Ziggler, he was shown backstage chewing out Daniel Bryan again. Coming across like he had all the confidence in the world, it really seemed like the heel was setting himself up for a fall, especially because Bryan almost started crying.
Far from losing, Miz came out on the winning end thanks to his wife Maryse. Since returning to the company, the blonde bombshell has been a great addition to her husband's overall act. At Backlash, she was an invaluable tool should WWE wish to continue Dolph's chase of championship gold.
Spraying a substance into Ziggler's eyes whilst the referee was distracted, Maryse then watched as Miz hit his Skull Crushing Finale finishing move and pinned his rival. Just like that, the pay-per-view had a nice little heel finish to add to its list of featured tropes.
The old ones are truly the best, some fans sounded outraged that Maryse had been the one to help her hubby escape. Now, Miz has even more heat, which is brilliant.
