WWE Backlash 2018: 10 Things WWE Got Right

3. Keeping The Intercontinental Title On Seth Rollins

Even though it wouldn't have been a complete disaster had The Miz recaptured "his" Intercontinental Title at Backlash, it was the right call by WWE to keep it on Rollins.

Seth is WWE's workhorse right now, keeps putting on great matches (with almost embarrassing regularity, actually) and is the best choice as IC Champ on both brands at the moment. Besides, that impending Miz vs. Daniel Bryan that's bound to happen doesn't need a title involved to muddy the waters.

In Brock Lesnar's absence post-Greatest Royal Rumble, it's Seth Rollins who is Raw's premier champion, and it's important WWE continue to highlight that. Much like Miz before him, Rollins has raised the prestige of a secondary title once thought of as a mere prop.

So long as WWE keep throwing meaningful opponents at Seth, like Finn Bálor, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and maybe also Drew McIntyre/Dolph Ziggler, then he'll be Intercontinental Champion for a long time to come. No complaints here.
