WWE: Batista - 5 Awesome Matches And 5 That Sucked

1. Batista (c) vs Undertaker - World Heavyweight Championship - WrestleMania 23

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQsba4iFmhs WrestleMania 23 was the highest grossing WWE pay-per-view of all time with 1,200,000 buys until WrestleMania 28 knocked it off five years later. With 80,103 avid fans in attendance at Detroit Ford Field, it was literally one of the biggest WrestleManias ever. The stage was set for Batista to put his title on the line against the Undertaker's legendary winning streak. The Deadman's previous victims was a distinguished list including Diesel, Ric Flair, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Mark Henry, Randy Orton, Triple H and Kane. Being added to those names was an instant rub for Batista, but would he be the one to take down the Undertaker at the "Granddaddy of Them All"? Of course it's clear who the winner was, but this exciting and fast worked match highlighted how much "The Animal" could be a great worker in the ring. Batista got over as a credible threat to win, near-fall after near-fall, as the Undertaker was pushed to the limit. WrestleMania 23 was main-evented with John Cena vs Shawn Michaels for the WWE title and the over-booked 'Battle of the Billionaires'. Though this match came out as the overwhelming show-stealer when all was said and done. Simply put, this is two gladiators putting on a WrestleMania classic and a gem in Batista's career.
