WWE Batista DVD Review: 12 Things You Should Know

11. Problems With Nervousness

One repeated theme of the documentary is Batista's problems with nervousness. This isn't just your average nerves, he legitimately struggles with mental and physical nervousness. In some ways this makes what he has achieved even more impressive, this is a man who feels intensely uncomfortable in large crowds and public speaking. We first heard reports of this nervous disposition way back in the mid 2000's, when The Animal noted that he would physically freeze up when having to do promos. He literally couldn't speak. Kudos to him that he managed to become what is now quite a decent talker. The new DVD reveals fresh details on Batista's problems with nerves. "I get really bad nervousness, jitters" he says in relation to his physical reaction to his public roles. His movie career has proved a further battle, "I find it tough speaking in front of people," he states, "Acting is tough." It's quite remarkable that a man who battles his nerves ended up in jobs where public performance is key. In many ways Batista is quite inspiring in this regard, he didn't let anything hold him back from pursuing his dreams.
