WWE Battleground: 10 Facts You Didn't Know

5. A Family Affair

Over the years, Battleground has become the WWE’s unofficial Take Your Sibling to Work day.

I’m not even sure if that’s a thing to be honest—I may have made it up just then... But my point is that so far, every single Battleground PPV has featured at least some kind of legitimate familial tie.

2013 featured real-life brothers Cody Rhodes and Goldust in tag team action, and of course their father Dusty was at ringside. Then in 2014, it was the Usos’ turn to bring the brotherly element, and last year Brie Bella was accompanied to the ring by her twin sister Nikki.

This year, however, looks set to become the first Battleground PPV that isn’t such a family affair. At the time of writing there are no families booked for the 2016 show, despite what the WWE tells you about the Wyatt clan.

Barring a Ric Flair return, a cameo from Snopp Dogg or an obligatory Zack Ryder dad appearance for his title match, we could be set to see another Battleground record tumble in 2016.
