Much of the story going into the six-man tag-team match pitting The New Day against The Wyatt Family revolved around Xavier Woods and Bray Wyatt. Seeing more sense than his buddies Big E and Kofi Kingston, Woods regularly displayed a level of fear when Wyatt was around. This was inconsistent at times, but at least there was a tale to work with.

That was the thread of the bout at Battleground, and it worked a charm. From the off, Woods look paralysed by Wyatt's hypnotising stare, something that became a thread of the match as it progressed. That fact only made it even cooler when Xavier fired up and decided he had to face his fear and battle Bray.

Ultimately, he wasn't successful, but this was a nice bit of pay off for those who have enjoyed the fearful glances Woods has been written to give over the past few weeks.

When Xavier did fire up and begin attacking Wyatt, Erick Rowan and even Braun Strowman feverishly, the live crowd were very much in his corner.
