It's unfortunate that Roman Reigns was absent for virtually all of the hype towards Battleground's main event. Had he been there, there's a fair chance fans would have witnessed more context regarding The Shield and their intertwining history. All three men in the WWE Title Triple Threat were members in that group, so it would have made sense.

As it was, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins had to work with little for a good few weeks. The Shield was placed on the backburner slightly, lost in the shuffle as WWE concentrated on the Draft and counting down the days until Reigns would be able to enter the ring again.

Come Battleground, Ambrose and Rollins unthinkably worked together for a brief period. At one point, they even hit a trademark Powerbomb on Roman through the nearby announce table. Cheerfully, the mix of wood and plastic exploded violently and loudly, only making the move look more vicious and impactful.

Not only was it cool to see former stablemates working together (even for such a short time), but the bump looked huge.
