WWE Battleground 2016: 10 Things WWE Got Right

1. Keeping The WWE Title On Dean Ambrose

The temptation was surely there for WWE. Going into Battleground, the story revolved around who would leave as WWE Champion, taking that title to their respective new brand post-WWE Draft. For Dean Ambrose, SmackDown beckoned, whereas both Seth Rollins and the returning Roman Reigns were heading to Monday Night Raw.

Management must have considered switching the belt back to Reigns, but surely knew this would anger fans at Battleground beyond belief. The alternative was Rollins, but Ambrose deserves the chance to show what he can do as champ. After all, he hasn't exactly had much time to bed into the role yet, only holding the title for around one month.

Booking Ambrose to not only win the match, but also pin Reigns, was great. Now, Dean is validated by the triumph, and genuinely looks like he belongs at the top of the card. The next feud he has on SmackDown will be of vital importance, but he has credibility in the role now.

That would have been shattered instantly had he been dethroned at Battleground.
