WWE Battleground 2016: 10 Things WWE Got Right

9. Resisting Temptation To Book A Brawl Between Rusev & Mojo Rawley

After he had fought off the challenge of Zack Ryder, it looked like Rusev was going to administer a familiar beat down of the babyface post-match. WWE used this as the perfect time to debut Mojo Rawley on the main roster, the energetic good guy sprinted down the aisle to ward off Rusev and protect his NXT partner.

Usually, this would have led to a brawl between both men, but WWE were able to resist that particular temptation. This was a shrewd decision, because nothing could be gained from having Rusev either crush Rawley or having Mojo fight off the WWE United States Champion.

The pair are on different shows, so it made sense to just have Rusev back off to fight another day. Instantly, Rawley now looks like he's up for the fight, but Rusev looks smart by neglecting to get involved physically with a fresh man.

Good work all round here, because the easy thing to do would have been to write a Mojo Rawley and Rusev scrap.
