WWE Battleground 2016: 10 Things You Probably Missed

9. JBL Comparing Kevin Owens To Bam Bam Bigelow

Often, JBL is derided for his brash heel persona on commentary and his - admittedly grating - 'wa wa waa' spiel that surfaces every now and then when Michael Cole or Byron Saxton sympathise with a babyface in peril. Something a lot of people miss is the crucial insight he can provide behind the desk, given his length of tenure in WWE and experience inside the ring.

At Battleground, he did everything in his power to put Kevin Owens over. During KO's match against Sami Zayn, JBL took the time to compare Owens to one of the best big men in company history, Bam Bam Bigelow.

Renowned for his agility (startling for such a huge man), Bam Bam is not a name that crops up too often on today's product. This comparison felt right, giving Owens yet more credibility and only enhancing his reputation.

This is hopefully something WWE will continue to do, because it really put over the athleticism of Owens and the fact he can move so well for a stocky, physically thick dude.
