WWE Battleground 2016: 10 Wrestling Matches We'd Rather See

5. Baron Corbin Vs. Titus O'Neill

This isn't an entirely appealing prospect in itself, but WWE should book something like it if they have any interest in maintaining realism and Corbin's push.

The choice to install O'Neill as a challenger for Rusev's U.S. title was inexplicable. He'd barely appeared on television, much less staked a claim with any notable victories, before simply ambling up and anointing himself as the number one contender. That being said, he shouldn't be allowed to recede into the background at a similar rate.

No matter how questionable, his status as a recent challenger has furnished him with at least some currency. An enterprising creative team would take advantage of this by feeding him to somebody with little else to do and with whom they're not already bored.

Corbin, too, is already in danger of being lost in the shuffle, like his fellow NXT call-up Apollo Crews. There's an easy source of conflict to exploit in this scenario, too. Corbin has so far directed his ire towards the smaller Indy darlings, both in NXT and on the main roster - seeing how he'd measure up against a bigger opponent is the next natural step in his character arc.
