Miz. Daniel Bryan. Alberto Del Rio. Dolph Ziggler. Damien Sandow. Sheamus.

Since Money in the Bank moved onto its own show and off of WrestleMania, those are the names of the men that lost their next PPV match. In fact, Seth Rollins is the only person to be successful in his follow-up bout (albeit by forfeit), with Kane, John Cena, Randy Orton, and Dean Ambrose all cashing in their briefcase before they got the opportunity.

It's time to buck the trend.

The difference between Baron Corbin and past Money in the Bank recipients (except Damien Sandow) is that all other winners were seen as having clear main event potential in the eyes of the fans. Corbin just isn't at that level yet. He needs to be built up as a credible threat before eventually taking the WWE Championship, lest we have another Jinder Mahal situation.

The Nakamura Experiment may have bombed since Shinsuke first debuted, but he remains a popular staple of SmackDown Live. His bulletproof aura has already worn off, so it wouldn't be too big of a loss if he looked at the lights for Corbin.

Jobbing out the Money in the Bank winner does make some sense, in that it gives legitimacy to their opponent. Considering Corbin is having trouble being taken seriously as it is, he can't really afford that.
