WWE Battleground: 22 Things You Might Have Missed

17. That Spotlight Guy Is Fired

The first match on the main card was Sheamus vs Randy Orton and it was the quintessential definition of 'fine'. It went a decent length, with decent athleticism and a decent finish, pushed over the top by a crowd hot for Orton, a St Louis native. In terms of interesting touches, however, there were very few that will linger in the fans' memories. The first? A screwup by one of the lighting crew during Sheamus' entrance. The Celtic Warrior has a pretty cool entrance: the arena goes dark apart from the Titantron which flashes up 'Irish Pictures' with a steady building soundtrack until the lights flare and Sheamus is revealed, bellowing like a pissed-up Heathcliff. This time though, a spotlight accidentally stayed on him and he was seen awkwardly ambling out onto the stage, before it hastily shut off. Oops.
