The hype was real for No Way Jose when he leapt up from NXT to WWE's main roster in 2018, but that hype train stalled swiftly and then never got going again before he was released in 2020. Since then, Levy Valenzuela hasn't done too much wrestling. He had a short stint in IMPACT/TNA, then worked one match for AEW on the 4 October 2022 edition of Dark, but that's about it for top level stuff. His last recorded bout was on an independent show in September 2024.

That was just Jose's 17th in-ring appearance since losing to Bobby Lashley in quick order on the 14 April 2020 Raw. Yep, one day before he was released.
