WWE Brighton Live - 10 Interesting Observations

10. The Authority Are Babyfaces Tonight

One of the most perplexing things to watch on WWE€™s regular television output is the split personality of The Authority, specifically Triple H and Stephanie. On many occasions, to further a storyline or set up a match for himself (he€™s got to justify his $1m a year wrestler€™s contract on top of his corporate contract after all€.), Triple H and Stephanie will be the most underhanded and dastardly people you could ever dare to meet. And yet, on other occasions (sometimes even on the same show!), they will be all smiles, like when making big announcements, welcoming new arrivals or declaring the attendance numbers for a major event. It just dilutes the character and puts their collective egos ahead of what€™s, dare I say it, best for business. Moments before the live show kicked off, we were welcomed to the show by a generic pre-taped greeting from Triple H which is presumably played before all live events. As soon as Triple H€™s face appeared on the screen, the crowd reacted, excited that the show was about to begin. However, the reaction was also a mix of cheers and boos. No wonder people don€™t know how to react to them. However, tonight, The Authority were babyfaces as a smiling Triple H said hello to the WWE Universe. Then our MC, Eden Stiles (Mrs Stardust) walked down the ramp in a sparkly evening dress and welcomed us to the show. She also announced that The Authority had made tonight€™s Roman Reigns v Bray Wyatt main event a No Holds Barred match (which was more or less the same stipulation as we had for last year€™s main event of John Cena v Seth Rollins).
