WWE Brighton Live - 10 Interesting Observations

9. Everybody Loves Neville

The first wrestler down the ramp was England€™s own Neville. He got a MONSTROUS pop, matched only by the pop for the end of the main event. Now admittedly, the first match always gets a good reaction because it means that the show has started and the wrestling has begun. However, unlike most of the other matches, the crowd€™s response to the jumping Geordie was sustained throughout the entire contest. The reason for this is because Neville appeals to every demographic. Kids love him because he€™s a daredevil, a high flying acrobat, similar to Rey Mysterio. Adults love him because he€™s exciting to watch. Brits love him because he€™s one of our own. Hardcore fans love him because they remember him wrestling on the British independent scene and Dragon Gate in Japan as PAC before he signed with the WWE. All boxes ticked. Everyone loves Neville. Well maybe everyone except Vince, as Neville doesn€™t measure up to the size of wrestlers that Vince likes. Is Neville destined to remain in the mid card forever? They€™d be missing a trick if he did. In an opener that saw a lot of playing to the crowd, Neville pinned Stardust with the Red Arrow. The crowd were literally on their feet in anticipation of the move and they all counted along with the referee€™s 1-2-3.
