WWE is on the verge of bringing back the old Million Dollar Championship.

This is according to the Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast's Andrew Zarian, who reports that the strap could be present for Ted DiBiase and Cameron Grimes' Million Dollar Face-Off on this week's episode of NXT.

DiBiase and Grimes have been working together for several weeks now. The Million Dollar Man constantly one-upping the newly-wealthy Grimes has been the theme of their storyline, with most of their segments taking place away from the Capitol Wrestling Center. The Million Dollar Championship could take things to a new level this week.

First introduced in February 1989, the Million Dollar Championship was brought in as a result of DiBiase's inability to win (or buy) the WWE Championship. An unsanctioned strap, it was mostly used as a prop by DiBiase, who rarely put it on the line in the ring, holding it for over 900 days before dropping it to former ally Virgil in August 1991.

Originally deactivated in February 1992, the belt was brought back for 'The Ring Master' Steve Austin in 1995, then again for Ted DiBiase Jr. in April 2010. It has lain dormant since that November.
