Ahead of making his NXT TV debut next week, it appears as if WWE has had a change of heart where it pertains to El Hijo del Fantasma and his appearance.

The hugely talented luchador signed with WWE back in August of last year, and various online rumblings and reports indicated that the former King Cuerno would be competing without his trademark mask while under the WWE umbrella. In fact, Fantasma even worked several NXT live events earlier this year without said mask.

In a new video package designed to hype the star’s impending TV debut, however, it appears as if Fantasma will be retaining his masked look.

Fantasma will face off against Jack Gallagher on next week’s episode of NXT, with that match being part of the brand’s ongoing tournament to crown an interim Cruiserweight Champion.

Just last week, we were hearing rumours that the recent abductions of Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde were to be tied to a storyline involving Fantasma. Those same rumours suggested that this could all be leading to a stable based on a very real 1970s US terrorist group.

Whether that is indeed the way forward for Fantasma, we’ll have to wait and see. But now we at least known that the CMLL, AAA, and Lucha Underground standout will be competing in his famed mask during his WWE tenure.
