Admittedly, it was fairly odd to see WWE debut the Cruiserweight division on Monday Night Raw without the first ever WWE Cruiserweight Champion. T.J Perkins was nowhere to be found as Brian Kendrick, Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik and Rich Swann wrestled for a crack at his newly-minted purple title.

It was Kendrick who came out on top in the match, using his Captain's Hook submission hold to beat Alexander. Thus, the veteran was handed a shot at Perkins come Clash Of Champions, meaning T.J's very first main roster appearance for WWE was coming on pay-per-view. The pressure was on, Perkins had to impress.

It'll take some time for WWE to find their feet with the idea of Cruiserweights again, but the match between Perkins and Kendrick was enjoyable fare. The champion managed to defend his title, which means he'll be coming to Monday Night Raw sooner rather than later with the belt.

T.J's next challenger is obviously yet to be determined, but Clash Of Champions revealed that he will roll into Raw still as WWE Cruiserweight Champion.
