WWE Couple Engaged
Alexa Bliss and Buddy Murphy to tie the knot.
Former NXT Tag Team Champion Buddy Murphy took to Instagram on Monday to announce his engagement to Smackdown Women's Champion Alexa Bliss.
Murphy shared the following image of the couple:
A former gymnast, cheerleader, and bodybuilder, Alexa Bliss was signed by WWE in 2013 and sent to NXT for training. She made her in-ring debut the following year and began competing in the brand's women's division, but in 2015, she turned heel and formed an alliance with then-NXT Tag Team Champions Murphy and Wesley Blake. The pair became the longest-reigning champions of NXT's WWE Network era, but after they lost the belts, they found themselves in disarray. Bliss soon abandoned her charges, and Blake and Murphy separated.
In July, Bliss was called up to Smackdown as part of the WWE draft. That September, she competed to become the inaugural Smackdown Women's Champion, and while she came up short, she would defeat Becky Lynch for the belt at TLC. Murphy, meanwhile, has struggled to find success as a star in NXT, having only wrestled a single match on the brand's show since the summer.
